Download (downloaded 34 times)This study dealt to assess the diversity and distribution of macrofungi in the buffer zone area of Mount Hamiguitan, Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental. Environmental parameters are also monitored such as temperature, soil acidity, elevation and anthropogenic activities. Quadrat methods with the use of transect rope established in three different elevations gathered 28 species of Phylum Basidiomycota conducted during sunny days of March 2018 which represents six families, Amanitaceae, Boletaceae, Ganodermataceae, Hymenochaetaceae, Polyporaceae and Tremellaceae. Four species in two families are reported to have medicinal and food uses. The results showed that macrofungi is slight diverse in the study area and distributed in a clumped pattern. Temperature and soil acidity influenced the diversity and distribution of macrofungi while elevation showed no significant influence. Anthropogenic activities are present in the study area which may affect the distribution.
