This study was conducted to assess the diversity of birds in Mount Hamiguitan Range Wildlife Sanctuary, Brgy. Maputi, San-Isidro, Davao Oriental,Philippines.The study was conducted for six days on January 23-30, 2018.This area is located within Sitio Tibanga, Barangay Maputi, San-Isidro, Davao Oriental, Philippines. The sampling area employed three sites with the used of three methods, the transect walk, point-count and mist netting.It gathered a total of 46 species with 194 individuals. Out of the 22 family, family Dicaeidae and Muscicapidae were the most dominant with six species followed by family Columbidae and Cuculidae with four species. In terms of species richness, S1 has the highest (2. 91)  followed by S3 (3.17) and S2 (3.66). Among the species, the Philippine Bulbul (Hypsipetes philippinus) that belonged to family Pycnonotidae and  order Passeriformes has the highest abundance with a total of 35 individuals from  S1 (29 individuals), S2(3 individuals), and S3 (3 individuals). Among the 46 species identified, 24 of them are endemic, one  near- threatened species the (Pachycephala leucogastra) and one endangered  (Penelopides panini).Shannon Weinner- Diversity index in all sites was 2.92 and the species richness in all sites was 3.25 that indicating  a high diversity.
