About the Species:
Hemibungarus calligaster or the Barred Coral Snake is a species of venomous elapid snakes characterized by having a long gray and short brown bands edged with white. This species is endemic in the Philippines particularly in the islands of Luzon, Cebu, Panay, Guimaras, Negros, Pollilo, Catanduanes and Masbate. In MHRWS, this species is usually observed in rivers and streams.
