About the Species:
Cyrtodactylus philippinicus or the Philippine Bent-toed Gecko is a species of gecko morphologically similar to C. annulatus but differently patterned and has long narrow digits on hindlimbs and forelimbs. This species is endemic in the Philippines particularly on the islands of Luzon, Mindoro, Pollilo, Dinagat, Samar, Panay, Catanduanes, Sibuyan and Romblon. This species is recorded in a wide variety of microhabitats including in the forest floor, under rotting logs, beneath barks, on the surface of stumps and living trees and in arboreal ferns at heights 25 to 50 feet. In MHRWS, C. philippinicus is commonly observed in the river bank rocks, tree trunk and in the leaf litter in the forest floor.
