About the Species:
Brachymeles boulengeri or the Boulenger’s Short-legged Skink is a family of lizards characterized by having a small head indistinct from the neck, reduced limbs, a short tail and a glossy smooth reddish brown body. The hindlimbs with separate digits were slightly larger than the forelimbs with compressed digits. Its body is also marked by rows of small dots on its dorsal and lateral sides, and a pale tan stripe running along its flanks. This is endemic in the Philippines particularly in the islands of Pollilo, southwest Luzon, and Marinduque. In MHRWS, this species is usually found in leaf litter and underneath rotting log.
