About the Species:
Rhacophorus bimaculatus or Mindanao flying frog is a small frog characterized by having a dark brown line extends from one eye to the other across the top of its head. This species has flattened fingers and toes with rounded tips. R. bimaculatus is endemic in the Philippines particularly in Luzon, Bohol and Mindanao. Recorded from other studies, this species inhabits arboreal microhabitats usually beside streams, ponds or rivers in undisturbed lower montane and lowland forests. In MHRWS, this species is found in the lowland forests. They are commonly seen in the rocks near and on the streams. It was also observed that this species changes color from white while residing in the boulders of the streams to red-orange after it was captured.
